RFID Technology in Retail

2021-10-28 View:

Imagine a shopping cart in a self-service store equipped with a scanner and a computer with a touch screen. You scan the goods and put them in the shopping cart. After choosing, you will go to the self-service cashier or cashier. Since the amount of your purchase is already known, and they are in all packages, the waiting time is minimal. You only need to pay for your purchase.

This is the so-called RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology in retail. RFID helps meet the needs of the most demanding retailers around the world, thereby increasing sales. This technology is gradually changing the retail industry, providing sellers with real-time information on the status and movement of goods, improving warehouse productivity and preventing losses. This step will guide the global hardware and software market to support RFID.

A smart card is a small plastic card containing a computer chip. People use smart cards along with personal identification numbers (PINs) to log on to a network, a computer, or a device. Using a smart card is more secure than using a password because it's more difficult for someone to steal a smart card and learn your PIN than to learn your password.Smart cards are generally issued by information technology (IT) departments in large organizations. To use a smart card, you also need a smart card reader—a device that’s installed in or connected to your computer and that can read the information stored on a smart card.
